ARTIST NOTES: Race Time - we are all in a race against time! My sculpture is based on a 1920s vintage race car but constructed from everything other than car parts, eg dustbin lids for wheels, saucepans for headlights etc. Funny to see how things have gone full circle - back to running electric cars that actually began in the 1900s, before big oil dominated the world. My sculpture is a tongue in cheek take on green energy - the ultimate in recycling by turning a fossil fuel Petrol drum into a green energy electric car that will drive all day on a single charge….as long as you only want to do a 20ft circle, ie as long as the power cord!!
